The Book Fair is an exciting opportunity to nurture your children's love of reading, discover new books, and support the PTA in the process.

Kids will be previewing over 1,000 books and other items for sale with their individual classrooms on Oct 30th and 31st. Be on the lookout for their Wish Lists to come home with them. Then, they will have the opportunity to purchase their selections on Nov 2nd and 3rd. You can send cash, set up an eWallet (instructions will be sent in the weeks before) for them to use to buy their own items, or you can come visit the Book Fair in person on Wednesday evening, Nov 1st from 6:00—8:00 pm (details below).

Details:
Book Fair Community Night is the time for parents, caretakers, grandparents, and community members to come out and shop the fair in person at Sequoyah.
We'll have some entertainment for the kids, and hot cocoa and snacks will be provided by the PTA!
Come by and hang out with your friends while waiting to enter the school, or leave your kids outside while you shop in peace!
Set up an eWallet for your child:
Students can purchase with cash or you can make it easy and set up an “eWallet” account for them online through Scholastic. This works like a prepaid credit card, where the children can spend down what is on their account.
To set up your child's eWallet, a link and instructions will be provided prior to Book Fair. It's super easy and only takes less than 5 minutes.
Help Give the Gift of Books:
New books can be expensive, but the PTA believes that every child should have unobstructed access to them. There are some families right here in our Derwood community that could use your help in making that a reality for their children. To that end, the PTA will be setting up an eWallet that we will use to help purchase books from our Book Fair for those in need.

Volunteer:
As with all of our events, we need your help to make the Book Fair a success. If you are able, a Signup Genius will be available HERE and distributed prior to the event.
All volunteers will need to take a 30-minute online safety course and provide proof of vaccination via the MCPS volunteer website.
