AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS - FALL 2024

Great news, after-school clubs at Sequoyah are back!

Below you should find everything you need to know about all of our after-school programs. However, if you still have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at sequoyah.pta.contact@gmail.com

General Info:

• When: All of our clubs fall on Tuesday or Thursday. Each club has its own schedule, so make sure to verify all of the meeting dates published. Clubs either start on 10/8 or 10/10 and end 12/10 or 12/12. Class does not meet on the following dates: 10/31, 11/5, 11/26, and 11/28
• Where: Each club will either be outside or in one of our classrooms. You will be notified of which room number prior to the start of your club, and there will be staff there to guide your students on the first day
• How do I sign up?: Registration begins on 9/16/24 and ends 9/23/24. Registration and payment for all clubs will be handled through this registration link: Sequoyah Elementary School - Little Scholars (littlescholarsllc.com) The link is also on our Facebook group at facebook.com/groups/SESPTA. There will also be registration information at Back to School Night!
• Other Requirements: After registering your child(ren), you MUST complete our PTA After School Programs Waiver available HERE
• Transportation: Unfortunately, we are unable to provide buses for transportation home at this time. All parents will be responsible for picking up their kids when clubs dismiss at 5:00. If you need child care beyond 5:00, please make after-care arrangements directly with KidsCo HERE
• Snacks: Snacks will not be provided, please make sure you send a snack with your child on their club days. NO NUTS OR NUT BUTTERS ALLOWED. We share classrooms and desks with other students who may have allergies
• Payment: Although you provide payment information at the time of registration, you will not be charged until the class roster is finalized. Many classes have a minimum or maximum number of participants. If a class is canceled due to a failure to meet minimums, or your registration is denied because a class is over capacity you will be notified as soon as possible.

All clubs are open to all grade levels unless otherwise noted

Magnus Chess Academy (Gr. K-5) $236.00 10/08 to 12/10 Tue 4:00pm to 5:00pm   Learn chess with Magnus Chess Academy. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time. This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments. All chess supplies provided. All skill levels are welcome. Taught by Magus Chess Academy.

Spirit Squad (Gr. K-5) $212.00 10/08 to 12/10 Tue 4:00pm to 5:00pm   We have school spirit, yes we do! We have school spirit, how about you? From high-energy routines to creative choreography, we'll learn the moves that make the crowd go wild. Our Spirit Squad will develop their cheerleading, dance, and leadership skills while fostering camaraderie and pride. GO TEAM!

Extreme Animals (Gr. 3-5) $212.00 10/10 to 12/12 Thurs 4:00pm to 5:00pm   What is the most dangerous animal on earth? What is the weirdest animal adaptation? What creature is resistant to venom? We’ll find out all of this and more as we learn about the world’s most extreme animals. Students will build their science and language skills and they debate and conduct experiments regarding these crazy creatures.

Field Day Every Day (Gr. K-5) $195 10/10 to 12/12 Thurs 4:00pm to 5:00pm   From classic relay races to spirited competitions, students will experience the joy of outdoor games, team challenges, and exciting activities that keep them moving and laughing. Field Day Everyday is where every day is a day to run, jump, and play to your heart’s content. The fun never stops, and every day feels like a celebration!

Karate Kids by Panda Karate (Gr. K-5) $254 10/10 to 12/12 Thurs 4:00pm to 5:00pm   Our mission is to empower and inspire students through our after-school karate program, fostering discipline, confidence, and respect, while promoting physical fitness and personal growth. Each session is guided by a certified black belt instructor who is first aid and CPR certified. Our no-contact classes are a great way to introduce children to the world of martial arts in a safe manner. Taught by Pandas Karate.

Science Palooza (Gr. 3-5) $195 10/10 to 12/12 Thurs 4:00pm to 5:00pm   Come discover, experiment, and create as we learn about the colliding worlds of art and science in this STEAM-based program. Create simple machines, dabble in the world of robots, and discover the magic of science. Put on your lab coat and grab your art supplies because this STEAM program will rock your world.
